Neighborhoods at Work
On November 30, 2006, LISC/Chicago released a new report and photo presentation highlighting the NCP neighborhoods and the work underway. The pocket-sized booklet includes more than 60 photographs and short articles about the ways NCP works, from Earning and Learning to Planning, Creating and Greening. Read the introduction.
Community Investment Portfolio
Cities and neighborhoods, like businesses, rise or fall based on investment. The NCP lead agencies in November 2006 selected 14 catalytic projects that are ready for investment—and ready to help improve the local quality of life.
Community Heroes
Twenty-eight neighborhood leaders were recognized for their efforts Nov. 30 during the New Communities Program Leadership Assembly at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. Read about these "ordinary" people and their extraordinary commitment to improving neighborhoods.
Chicago Neighborhood Plans
This 2005 document includes summaries of all 14 Quality-of-Life Plans plus essays on the planning process and cross-cutting issues. It is an oversized document best printed on legal-sized paper (8.5 by 14 inches). Set page setup to legal-size and, if necessary, scale the page or check the shrink-to-fit-page option.
